Prussian Inf. EM M1915 Pickelhaube - Interesting Markings?

After checking Joe's article on Depot Marks, I deciphered the markings, and mainly the fact this helmet was assigned to the 'Scheinwerfer Battalion'... But what's that and does it match the (Prussian) wappen and the Bekleidungs Amt Nr. 3 ?

And would this justify such a high starting price?? :-?

Ron,

It does match. Nice marking. There was a guy at SOS who apparently was selling a pile of original chin straps. James saw them and I think they were going for over $200 per chinstrap.

A good reminder that mortars and searchlights were part of the engineer Corps or pioneers.
Some of these searchlights were humongous more reminiscent of what you would see in a Batman movie.

Thanks Joe; that makes it an interesting helmet indeed but I think the starting price is still too high nevertheless.

And speaking of original chinstraps; did anyone get the seller's info? As I need 1 or 2 M15s myself...

I agree, the markings are interesting but the starting price is a bit too high considering that this helmet is not complete as it misses cockades and a chinstrap.

Regards,

Edwin
