'Pushed in' Bavarian Off.

Remember the photo of the Bavarian officer with the top of his helmet sunken in? This looks like one of those.

Some flaking to the finish, but I don't see the concentric rings that tend to be present when the 'sinking' was done later. Maybe there was some reason for sinking it in, or maybe it was stylish for a time?

My Bavarian M1897 Chevauleger Off. Pickelhaube has the same issue: http://www.pickelhaubes.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5617&hilit=bavarian+M1897" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Could it possibly have been stylish? Like a 'crushed cap' look for a U-boot commander? Maybe the king showed up with a deformed 'pick' and others 'picked' up on it. ?

Thanks Joe! You always come through.
