Question for shako experts

Almost all the references indicate that shakos (Jager, flying battalions, and etc) come with flat scales. I saw a nice Bavarian shako on Herman Historica's latest auction with convex scale.
What is correct?

I am not an expert, but I am armed with references.

The best is Seibold, W. & Schulz, M. (1999) Die Helme der Königlich Bayerischen Armee 1806 - 1918. Bayerischer Militar Verlag - Gerd M. Schulz, Gröbenzell.

He shows Bayern Jäger officer as carrying flat gilt scales, while Verkehrstruppen carried rounded silver scales. I assume the Tschako you saw had silver fittings? T

Sorry Tony,
But that is what an expert is. Of course having references does not make an expert, but knowing how to use them does. Man, I like being right when I disagree with you, so there.
Gus

Tony,

Yes., the shako on Hermann Historica is all silver.
How about Prussian helmets? Are they all flat or some units are round?

Thanks,
C
