Dear members, of the forum,

After long investigation I recently found a very nice Dunkelblau mle 1895 Waffenrock for a private of the 82nd IR.
I would like to display it with belt and Baionett.

I am getting a bit confused concerning the leather color of the belt, should it be brown or black leather ?

I have found contradictory information on books and internet web sites.

Many thanks for your support.

Kind regards

This is eaxctly the display I would like to create ( only difference would be the Pickelhaube instead of the cap):

From what I know the Fusilier Batl wore black belts
I guess if the entire regiment was a Fusilier Regt. all men would wear black belts G R 9 F T a.jpeg
the image you posted to me is a Fusilier
Here is a photo of the Fahnentrager of Grenadier Regt 9
the soldier on the left is for the Fusilier Batl
in this case the other 3 wear white belts

According to the Bekleidungsordnung 1903, Beilage 1, page 301: I.R. 82 wears black belts.
Regards,
Lars

EDIT: I don't know of any infantry regiments that wore brown leather with the peacetime blue uniform, only white leather for some of the Garde / Grenadier
