I'm sure this says more than a few factual errors in it but I am easily entertained.... sounds like a real love story.

A lot of controversy about this movie has surfaced particularly in Germany. And of course they added the mandatory nurse romance. But the combat scenes are awesome, rarely the pop art style painting of WWI aircraft are shows in movies this well. Has anyone seen it?

I would take it as a fun movie to watch without being to focused on historic correctness.

If I remember well, this movie has been discussed also before our "Great Crash" here , Robert. And there are many reasons for me then to consider it as a kind of soap trash, with chaotic flying scenes, from which one can not follow anymore the narrative nor the character.
I have seen it now twice. The second experience did force me to abort the movie before the finish.
I must remark, that I am a big fan of well made WW1 movies, and I can forgive mildly the frequent historical flaws, when the movie is mainly ok.
