Compare it to the real ones on Kaisersbunker:
http://www.kaisersbunker.com/dunkelblau/helmets/dbh16.htm

There should be a pressed out edge on the visor; the bell-shaped reinforcing pieces on the sides of the helmet are oddly shaped/sewn; the salt shaker vents are missing.

The helmet looks like one of the replicas that've been popping up in the UK for the past few years. It seems to have been aged a bit, too.

Regards,
Brad

Ages ago, when a Tschako very much like the current eBay listing was being discussed, I drew comparisons here:

I agree with Brad, a modern reproduction.

Mea culpa. I must have been really tired last night. I thought I had seen the right vent and the front visor was just out of shape... (and I own three perfect ones...).
Now I agree with you. When was the last time we saw a good helmet for sale in the UK?

This piece looks like it hase the pressed edge too (# 220243340739). I just stumpled over it about 3 Minutes before reading the post. Might be a nice reference picture. Shiny like a polished shoe!

And it should; all Tschako, all ranks including officers have the pressed edge. Only Ersatz Filz Tschako do not have the pressed edge. Have a look HERE for more reading.

*Correction* "All Tschako have the pressed edge except Sachsen (Saxon) Jäger, Schützen and Train.

Hi Bruno:

The last one to capture my interest was this:
