Repro Tschako Wappen?

Last year I bought a Tschako Wappen on ebay for around 60 euro. When it arrived I wasn't fully convinced it was genuine, but it didn't look like any fake/repro that I knew of either.

Front and back look stamped, the beaded background on the scroll is also visible on the back, but the finer details of the feathers in the wings aren't. The "e" in "Koenig" looks a little bit strange, as do the tail feathers. The loops on the back look ok, but are made of a slightly different type of brass.

So I thought it might be original until I discovered the following Wappen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imperial-Ge...rue&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557#ht_23wt_1081

It looks exactly like mine, but in "silver". The same strange "e", the back with a lot of "patina" while the front is polished. The loops on the back of the "silver" Wappen don't look correct, and are the final drop to convince me that these Wappen are repros.

60 euro is a not such a huge amount, but it hurts my collector's pride that they fooled me. :x

I am pretty sure that many forum members have a similar story to tell, including myself :x

See hp67 for another example of the silver plate. It appears he's been taken in, too.
