Rivets for WW1 French Adrian

Does anyone have a source for the domed split rivets that hold the comb to the shell of a WW1 French Adrian helmet (or a reasonable facsimile)? Also, any idea as to where to find the proper paint to refinish a helmet? I have a trashed out artillery that I am restoring for the shelf.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

I undertook a web search for Adrian replacement parts, but could only turn up the Prairie Flower Leather reproduction liners.

Perhaps your best bet is buy a cheap scrapper, like this, for the split pins:

Hi Keith:

It's always nice to breath fresh life into something neglected. This relic is the first Great War helmet I ever owned. It was acquired via a trade back in '79 when I was fifteen. I know it's a piece of junk, but ,somehow, it managed to survive another twenty-nine years and three changes of address.

Thanks for the pix, I have a Adrian Infantry I picked up in High School for $5 (one of my first helmets). One of theses days, I'll try and add some pix (I have to figure out how to take decent pix)

Go to a junk yard or home center. All you really need are round headed rivets, and those aren't hard to find for brass fixtures.

If you want to replace the comb on your French Adrian, here's an ebay link:
