Saxon forgery

Excuse my ignorance, I lack the expertise to see the problem can you give a short explanation to learn from? It does not look like a complete repro to me (except perhaps the chin strap and I also don´t like the stamp). If its a doctor job made from another type of tin helmet then is there a good giveaway to tell?

See the high-domed shell, like that of a pre-1891 helmet. WW1 tin helmets never looked like that. The flat edging, the stamp... I have seen those with either field-gray or yellow metal fittings.
At least this one is cheap...

Guys,
Are you sure this is a repro? There are a bunch of Saxon repros around, they come up on ebay all the time, but they are a different shape to this one. They generally have a bad gloss enamel paint job, obviously modern leather, and poorly reproduced two-piece brass wappens.

I am in agreement with Joe and Bruno, I am not sure about the shape of the helmet, sometimes the shape can be distorted by the perspective, but I do not like the mark.
