The spike looks a lot like the one on the fake felt helmets.

It doesn't look good to me. For one thing the entire edge 'bead' where it was hammered over for strength is a real mess, which one doesn't normally find on German helmets. Also, the faint bead around the base of the dome has me wondering. Personally, I don't like it one bit.
But then, I'm not going to bid on it!
