Shako plates are now being die-struck, it appears.

They're getting better. They've already done this with other plates, so it's getting more important to be able to pick out flaws / details.

The same source has Bavarian, Prussian, Baden, Garde infantry, and Saxon plates. They also have the ribbon for the 17th Hussars and a skull that's supposed to be for the Leib Hussars; fortunately, the skull is way off...for now.

I've said this before, but I wish the German Army would bring back the Pickelhaube for ceremonial occasions. but I guess that would be too anachronistic in today's world. I can't really see armored cavalry riding around with Kuerassier helmets on.

The WWII Panzer troops were "Husaren des Führers im schwarzen Gewand,"
but a lobstertail on a Leopard 2 might be a stretch.

Most certainly!!! It would be like us wearing cavalry Stetsons on our old M60's in the armored cav.. Not a good idea for a number of reasons. Wouldn't it be nice to see either a dismounted or house mounted honor guard in the 'haube, Pelzmutze, etc. though?
