Shot up Cavalry pickelhaube

I think this is a standard pre-war cavalry helmet. Has two bullet entry holes on the right side and two parrallel exit holes on the left side, machine gun maybe?

Liner only has the cloth with an American sounding name written on long ago.

Hello Jim,
This is a Jaeger zu Pferde enlisted helmet. Neither the spike nor the eagle belong to this helmet.
Cheers, Bruno

Very interesting, Thanks!

Hey, do you know what helmet the spike belongs to?

I am thinking the crest must be for a standard Prussian 1891 model.

The wappen is incorrect for a JzP as well. It should be the dragoon eagle. So Jim someone has pieced this together.

Jim, the spike is not canonical either. The cloverleaf shaped base calls for a Kurassier (officer) or JzP but the crease lining the rim should not be present. The spike itself could not belong to a Kurassier helmet. It might fit a JzP NCO helmet but then there should be no Perlring. If for a JzP, the spike top should not unscrew. This rather looks like an infantry officer's spike stuck to a fantasy base...
