Hey Guys,
I picked up a felt shako and it is missing the front plate.
It has no markings on it but has a brass salt and pepper black painted vents with silver 91 posts.
Actually the vent holes are magnetic but the rear starburst attachments are brass.
I have a smaller silver shako Wurttemberg wappen but that wont work. ( Prongs are 55mm wide )
So I am looking for a silver Bavarian or perhaps a silver ( shako small) Prussian
Possibly a silver Garde star.
I had 2 of these that I sold about 2 years ago. ( dooo with forehead slap.)
Maybe I am asking for hens teeth but it is worth a try.
There was a silver Bavarian plate on France's ebay a week ago but the seller pulled the sale.
The space center to center between the mounting holes is 2-3/8" or 65 mm.
Any of you guys have one that you are willing to part with ?
