Steve usually stops at our SOS tables for a good bit of collector talk and to rest up. The cement floor and harsh lighting at the Show are really hard on the body after a while :( . Anyway this years visit was pretty short due to all the buying going on but he did bring his Dragoner #19 along so I got some close up pics:

I have only seen cloth covered scales is reference books!

The helme is in near perfect condition! Note the lighter blue on the kokarde, my D19 officer has a darker shade of blue.

Amy ;
I know that you mean D R 19 Oldenburg . I did see that front plate and it is a "frosty " beauty .
I agree it was too much at $ 1,800.He did have other nice items which someone beat me to
so I had to deal with them to get them .My 2 Garde D R officer epaulettes and shoulder strap pairs .
By the way I am looking for a D R 18 Mecklenburg officers helmet or D R 17 .
It was nice to meet you this year for the first time .I now know who has been buying up
all the helmets !
Thanks
Steve

Steve found the Holy Grail in Grays !!!
That gray Bruns
If you or Steve do not mind , how much did that hens teeth cost ?

Last time I saw one up for sale was on ebay .
Although it was a dog , it fetched $6,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pickelhauben ;
Not as much as you quoted , but it was not cheap .I only know of 2 others
and they can not be had . so as the Elvis song goes ; "It's Now or Never "
I used to really like NOLA .a few years back we went 10 years in a row .
Not so pleased with NOLA any longer after they took General Robert E. Lee
away from Lee Circle

Taking down Lee's statue was just insane.
Taking political correctness to all new lows.

I put that almost at the same level as the Taliban blowing up those 3,000 year old stone deities .

Those are some fantastic finds Steve, Congratulations! =D>

Thanks for letting me see some of them in person at the show! It was great to see you again!

Best Wishes,

Alan

It is a world wide sickness....
Over here Leopold III statues are on "their" list now....

I would be very glad to see some more picts of the M15 JR92.
Is it regimentally marked or only BA X stamp?
And how about the Braunschweig cockade? Steel or brass?

Philippe

Sorry , I bought the helmet "as is " no kokards or chin strap
But as I said it is only the 3rd one that I have seen
Neither of those 2 can be bought for any reasonable amount of cash
I know the 2 collectors who own them
I am sure there are more around , I just do not happen to know the other collectors .
1 is in the U S A
the other in Europe
I have extra National kokards and I have the chin strap
so I need an I R 92 kokard
Thank you for your question

Yup I mean DR 19. Hmm I didn't buy them up, some are asking for exex prices and some dealers asked me if I know what I am buying. There is this dealer who asked 'you know what this is' I said yes, it's a wurttemberg officers. He was surprised but then he tried to convince me that its meant for the Prince of wurttemberg lol I have a DR 17

Here is another one, Steve. The state cockades I have are in too good a condition and don't look right on this seasoned helmet. I'd like to find a beat-up Braunschweig cockade. In the meantime the helmet remains naked...
