Hello, new here.

I have a small collection of pickelhaubes from Sweden police, in Swedish theay are called kask.

It was in use between 1887-1926 and all cities or counties have different plate with city/county emblem.
The county emblem was used by rural police.
Officers had extra brass lining on the sides, Comissioners had blue enamel in emblem.

I am interested in all kind of Swedish police items for my growing collection wich you can see in my cabinet.

Welcome here! You have a very nice collection, there are not many here who collect these, but it is never too late to learn more about these pickelhaubes.
They are very beautiful! Thank you for sharing your collection here!

Regards, Coert.

Thanks alot! I will fill this thread with some closer photos of my different style helmets.

This is an officers helmet from Stockholm, or in swedish Överkonstapel. You see the extra brass bands from top to both sides.

The emblem has a shield with Stockholm city Saint Erik emblem. It's sorrounded with oak leafs and has the kings crown on top.
Usually bigger cities has their emblem stansed in the whole shield. Smaller cities often used a standard shield and placed the cityemblem either solded or with a button used as a rivet.

The last pic is the kommissarie helmet från Stockholm with blue enamel in the center shield and red in the crown. (not in my collection)

The quality of it is really astoundingly good. I am not really familiar with Swedish pickelhaubes, but already saw some being posted here on the forum. I guess you will be receiving more posts about them here on our forum. :) In fact I am grateful for your post, and learn more about these helmets.

Regards, Coert.

I use to have several Swedish pickelhaubes, but alas had to sell them to buy more German ones.

Great helmets, and Iove the enameled Police one,

James

This is a överkonstapel (officer) helmet från the city of Örebro, the shield is stansed with the city emblem with the left looking Eagle.
The five brick tower crown is shared with the city fire department.

This one comes from the city of Luleå, the small city emblem with two crossed city keys is solded in the middle of the standard plate shield.
This was a cheaper wy to equipe the constables.
The three brick tower crown is shared with the city fire brigade.

Here we have one from the city of Södertälje. The city emblem with Saint Ragnhild is in a button wich is rivet (hammered) in the center of the standard plate shield.
It has the royal crown on top.

These helmets appear to be in remarkably good condition. We can assume these endured less harsh conditions than military helmets (although many of the latter were more abused after the war than during it...).
Do you know if these Swedish helmets were manufactured by German makers, which made Pickelhauben for other countries?

From what I understand they were imported from Austria from unknown manufacturer. There a no stamps or marks in my helmets.
