eBay has introduced an in-site Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool to help sellers write descriptions for them, and I am starting to see it everywhere. I used the AI in eBay to create some sample descriptions. I have put some of the stranger statements in red.

I have also used a few separate AI's to create some pictures of pickelhaube helmets, but I am not sure of the output... I have tried multiple prompts to give it the best chance. They are weird and fall hard into the uncanny valley.

In short, AI is not going away. These descriptions are terrible and is sometimes wrong. I don't think most of the good sellers are using this tool though.

Most content produced for Facebook (photos of interesting things, or wholesome videos, etc) are staged, misrepresented, or increasingly generated by AI. Remain skeptical; this technology is only getting more advanced...

The major problem with these AI's is that they use the internet as a source. And we all know how many wrong things are already written there, especially on Wikipedia. An AI can’t proof if an information is correct and not many users take care to eliminate the errors for future queries, but only do this for the current task. And the more often a source of information is chosen, the less often it is checked to see if it is correct. Over the years, the information will therefore probably get worse rather than better. I'm therefore rather skeptical about AI in this respect.

On such platforms as Facebook, I've already seen AI fooling a lot of people who prefer to take things at face value (such as the three story Italian 'mobile library' and Jacuzzi rooms. It doesn't take much imagination, or real intelligence, to see that this stuff will become a real bane. It's already becoming annoying.

AI has a lot of flaws as yet… I’m not looking forward to the future…. I probably won’t be around when it’s what I’d consider intolerable but my kids will……. Sad

I read that there is already a law in the works in Europe, in which the use of AI has to be cited, especially in visual media. On such platforms as Facebook, I've already seen AI fooling a lot of people who prefer to take things at face value (such as the three story Italian 'mobile library' and Jacuzzi rooms. It doesn't take much imagination, or real intelligence, to see that this stuff will become a real bane. It's already becoming annoying.

I tend to get more consumer protectionist the more I see this type of tech grow...

Yeah, so I guess the AI is in a way saying that there is actually a state in Germany like the Grand Duchy of India that is still producing original pieces today. It's incredible.
