Max very graciously gave me permission to use a photograph of his helmet on my site. That exact photograph is now being used by another eBay seller.

6572155443.

You can find the picture on my site http://www.coljs.com/articles/ersatzarticle.htm#_ednref6
and footnote number six gives credit to Max for this.

I was looking at the helmet and thought it looked pretty good.

The thing is have you contacted the seller, saying that he has used your picture. He is selling repros yet uses other peoples pictures of originals ... surely this can be reported and action taken by eBay.

At least once a month something of mine is liisted by criminals on ebay.

Hi Tony, Maxime, and Joe:

Regrettably, this is a sign of the times . Where will it end? Bait and switch. Hook them with a photo and send them who knows what.

Another plunder from down under.

Chas.

Mike one of our members did this. The seller pointed at the supplier and shrugged his shoulders. That was on the old number.

Small wonder they pilfer pictures of real helmets. Who would be willing to shell out money for this gem?

THEY ARE NOT INDIAN MADE.

ONLY OUR GREEK AND ROMAN HELMETS, ARMOUR AND SHIELDS ARE MADE IN INDIA, ENGLAND AND SOME WITHIN AUSTRALIA.

Come again?

Hi Joe,

It's a never end story! I sent mails to eBay but they answerd me that they can't do anything, so I try to inform the bidders that this picture is coming from my web site. I sent an email to the seller who never answered. So what to do????

Maxime
