Looks like an M1895 but weird how there is grey under the gold paint. I remember some discussion about gold wash/paint.
Not an M1915 as no removable spike. So why the grey colour underneath in spots and the gold paint? Any thoughts? Multiple paint jobs by a collector?
Chinstrap looks original I think but also has the fittings painted.
Okay just looking at it again and I do see it is a removable spike so someone decided to make it gold.
Would it be worth getting and trying to clean off the paint for the right price? Would entail removing all the fittings to do it without destroying the leather.
Not that I need another M1915 but it does have markings.
Thanks.
