Hello All:
This helmet was an eBay purchase. I don't know if it really qualifies as trench art, but it certainly is different.
As you can see, the owner added a personal touch to the rough texturing: two overseas chevrons flanked by AEF and his initials, "L G."
The texturing also reveals a 6th Cavalry insignia:
The chinstrap split is another characteristic of cavalry helmets. The liner is in remarkably good shape for its age.
