One reason....the liner is dyed black on both sides. Original period liners ie. Imperial German are only dyed on the smooth side of the hide. Brian

Sergio has made it easy, he has clearly listed it as a Museumsanfertigung which is a museum copy, but this could be a centennial piece, probably from before the Great war. So on it's own, it might still be almost 100 years old.
