Posting these for George, obviously a very rare example of the "numbered" Ulan cover.







 
Thanks for posting. It's interesting that the two photos posted of numbered Ulan are both for the 19th (http://pickelhaubes.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=11049" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Although one is the reserve regiment. Does your's have any stamps inside?
 
There are no markings in either the cover or the helmet. I got the tsapka and cover several years ago but I don't remember where. I do remember that the pair was rather cheap <$600. The helmet is a M1915 Wuerttemberger.
 
Very cool set. I was able to interview a veteran of this regiment. He was very proud of his service.
 
Funny to see they used two diffrend shades of green in the numbers
Looks like they ran out of fabriks

Or is there another explanation to it due to fading and decoloration over years
