Unusual chinstrap

The card contains a short New Years greeting and is stamped Dec. 30th 1914 in Sacrau Kr. Oels which is today located in Poland.

It's one of those rare cork helmets, covered with canvas. This model always has this type of chinstrap...
Here's a Saxon one...

Thanks for the hint - I did not think of this possibility even though we already had some cork helmets in discussion. BTW that is one great helmet there!
 
I agree–did not think of this possibility–very probable and an interesting lesson in what these look like in the picture. Thanks! Nice helmet by the way.
