What are your opinions on this Customs Pickelhaube?

I do not own one of these, but I have always thought that the Wappen they used was beautiful.
This one appears to have a cast spike. Is that normal?

What are your opinions?

Looks fine to me. I worked on one of these years ago and one of the things I remember is that line up the tulip spike, like two halves put together. I don’t believe it was cast as that would add weight. I think the two halves were stamped then soldered together.

I own two of them but somehow don't have the special feeling for them. You know that love at first sight thing didn't apply to those custom helmets and I thought I will love them after seeing them more, but somehow never find the spark so off they sent to a dealer ams it got sold almost right away. They are unique in their own way but not for me.

I know exactly how you feel. The Wappen is unique and very detailed, but the helmet itself lacks that certain spark necessary for me to actually buy one. I have seen several advertised over the years, but just never was excited enough to make a purchase. I had never noticed the "line" in the spike before so I appreciate Brian's comments. I guess it would be extraordinarily difficult to stamp out a spike with this pattern.

I do agree with you.
Just sold mine a year or so ago...
And never regretted it.
I wouldn't mind having one again, but not at the price they actually go.

Look at this one, the spike is also symmetrical. And the "wow" price.
