What is this tropical helmet?

Hi all,
This helmet is being sold as an Imperial Austrian naval sun helmet, 1917-18 period. It certainly looks wrong to me....maybe a French inter-war helmet with a reproduction bullion patch?

I was interested here, and I did a little looking around. Seems to me, the helmet itself, as you said, is a French Army Air Force Helm from the 30s. The Patch is from an Austro Hungarian Naval officers visor cap, and the patch itself could be somewhat valuable. This is however an interesting concept.
