There was a question posted during the auction about the front plate and the answer was Koeing not Fuerst (spl....).!!!!

Can any of the experts explain why this helmet was sold for high $?

This helmet from Braunschweig is one of the most desirable pickelhauben to collectors. Braunschweig had only one Reg., IR92 so the numbers available are quite small. The helmet plate should have the Furst motto. In my opinion the helmet on E-bay is an incorrect plate ( and a waste of $2750). A real plate would be larger in a north south direction so the Furst motto would show above the skull. For comparison see Joe's listing under "What regulation..." in this catagory. This is an offering in the Spring Kube sale with an starting bid of $14,000 after fees. Bill
