Shame you can't read the stampings. Wottabout the wingnut's, Joe? That's cool is'nt it?
That pattern of cast brass square wingnut is reasonably common on Bayern issued helmets, both pre and post 1915. Not sure if I have seen it on a Hessen before, (?) but I would not be at all surprised.
