Here's a really nice World War One officer's cap of Jaeger Bataillon Nr. 7.

They are listed as a Westphalian unit but have the Nassau cockade and were stationed in Bückeburg.

The battalion was mobilized in August 1914 and sent to the Western Front. It participated in the initial campaigns against Belgium and France, including the siege of Liège. It later fought in the trenches, notably in the Battle of the Somme (1916) and during the German spring offensive of 1918.

The cap is in excellent condition given the age, without any moth holes to the fine wool and holds a very nice form.

Yes! As far as I know they were the only unit from Schaumburg-Lippe, and the only ones to use this feldzeichen/kokarde.

Another small mostly unknown exception: the small state of Schaumburg-Lippe, whose recruits served in the III/JR55 and JB7. From 1867 to 1897, the white-red-blue cockade was worn on the left, the prussian on the right of the helmet. This feature disappeared on March 22, 1897, and the Schaumburg-Lippe colors were no longer worn in the German infantry.
