As I'm begginer in the field of pickelhauben, I would like to get the precise unit and a technical description of this Würtemberg Helmet.
Thank you in advance for any help !

Welcome to the Forum,
it‘s a beautiful Officer Helmet with correct Cocades from around 1900/1913. It seems to get a silver smooth Spike, Base, Rosette, Trim and and Plate, arched brass Chin Scales and brass Star-Bolts. That would match to Dragoon-Regiment No. 25 (Queen Olga, 1st Wurtt.)
Condition is quite good. Does it have square nuts inside?

Thank you so far for your help and welcome.
Yes it has the square nuts. I didn't buy it but so far.

I am not sure, but it could also be Württembergisches Pionier-Batl. Nr.13. ? Greetings
Wojtek
As far as I know Pioneer Reg. No. 13 would have flat Chin Scales.
@ chrisutter: Yes Chris, it looks like fiber. But I have doubts according the Star-Bolts. I have problems to identify the color, but they look like silver plated, which would be wrong for this helmet. Further I saw those bow nuts only on very old Pickelhaubes and not on newer ones. Other opinions are welcome.

Definitely a Vulcan fibre helmet. As to the chin scales, my vote goes for flat infantry. I always use the chin scale bosses (rosettes) as a guide......convex scales = convex bosses. If the bosses are flat, then infantry. It is unusual to see that old style type of nut but after 100+ years the piece is lucky to be here. The V-fibre helmets often are in better shape because they do not react to humidity changes as the leather pieces do. Welcome to the forum, good to have you with us.

Thank you to all of you for your appreciated feedback, which helps a lot.
An thank you for the welcome (y)
The Star bolts are guilted imo.

Hello,

For Württemberg, the officer helmets of the DR25 and 26, that of the PB 13 and that of the GR 119 and 123 are identical (cross-shaped base, square visor, silver fittings, chinstrap scales and golden stars.)

But: the scales and rosettes are rounded for the 2 Dragons, while they are flat for the regiments on foot (PB and GR). So here it is indeed a Dragon officer.

Regarding the star of the order on the faceplate of 26, this was only awarded on December 5, 1905. As we see the Reichskokarde on the right, this helmet is after 1897, so it could be a DR26 until 1905. But after 1905, we are in front of a DR25 ... especially with the high point!
;)
