Hi REM: As a new member you will not know this, but we don't like to provide appraisals here or put values on things. It is your money and your budget so the decision is up to you. We do comment on condition, originality and answer questions/provide information for members. Consequently, please don't ask us if "this is worth it". Thanks.
Now regarding this helmet....the condition looks good, the liner is complete and it has nice correct markings for IR 121 which is a Wurttemberg Regt. IR 121 was founded in 1716, was based in Ludwigsburg and was part of the XIII Army Korps. This is obviously one of the oldest Wurtt. regiments and I have a 121 in my own collection. The only problems I see is the split in the front visor trim and the repainted Reich's kokarde. Many times the stag antlers, crown or knight's helmet are broken off these Wurtt helmet plates but this one is complete and a bonus. I can not see enough of the chin strap to make a comment as to originality but if it is original, then that is another plus.

Ahh sorry indeed i didn't no!

Hello

Try to be patient and you will find a helmet in better condition....

The helmet is a reassembly of several pieces.
Thans! you are experienced collectors and may have a network. do you also have tips with whom or which collectors you know it is real and also paid realistic prices with them?

Yes the front plate could be not original to the helmet and I did see that. However, the split visor trim indicates shrinkage which could also explain the gap between the wappen and the shell. In my recent Latest Find post on my new Wurtt. Arty helmet, I did not mention, that I did have to carefully bend the new wappen to fit the curvature of the shell. The wappen loops fit the holes perfectly BUT the wappen itself was loose to the shell and had to be reshaped. BTW....the helmet in my collection is not IR 121 but IR 126 and dated 1896. In my collector experience, Wurttemberg helmets are rare although things may be different in Europe.

I looks like the J.R. 121 stamp has been placed on a removed stamp. I say this because it looks like somone wiped a portion of the rear visor with rubbing alcohol.

Helmet in good condition, hairstyle still fresh. I don't see 121 but 127, the last Württemberg regiment in peacetime. The plate is often "detached" from the helmet, and can easily be shaped with your fingers. The rear bead is offset from the helmet due to the retraction of the leather over time. The Reichskokarde is excavated, repainted. In France, it's a correct price, it would do more in the sales room. Cordially

Hi Rem; just a note that this is the for sale section; there is an another helmet section where you’d be best to post your questions and queries on helmets but not here.

Cheers!

Yes I saw 127 as well.
Chinstrap is broken.

yes, 127...
it's a fair price but not a great deal...chinstrap, cockade have to be changed...
So 150 to 200 euros for a good chinstrap, 80/100 for a good cockade.....1000+ euro finally for this helmet...
and the front visor trim is broken...
