Wurttemburg Rgt 120 EM.

Mikey,

Without talking at all about repairs and additions to this helmet, I would like to talk about the mark. This is a pressed method. It seems as though this method went out slowly starting in the 1890s being replaced mostly by ink. There are still some examples in the 1900s, but by the teens I don't think I've seen any. Some of the very early ones are actually quite clean. In that I'm talking about in the 1870s. The later ones tend to be more grimy. The two Southern kingdoms seem to have stayed with pressed marks a bit later than Prussia and Saxony.

This example is pristine. No date. Unfortunately, the mark on the other side of the brim is obscured in the photo.
