M1915 Prussian Pickelhaube

M1915 Pickelhuabe has some of the threads missing on the visors so how should I have the stitching restored? Everything is intact, only the threads are missing on the front visor, but it is held on by the side rivets. Does anyone have any diagrams how the pickelhabes were stitched together?

FK19,
Welcome to the forum. I would recommend not wearing the 100+ years items, especially the gas mask. Great looking pickelhaube. Does it still have the liner? I would recommend using a period thread to secure the front visor back in place. There are many experts on this forum; b.loree is the most knowledgeable on restoring the helmet as closely as possible to its original configuration.
Best regards,
John

Yes liner intact

Welcome FK19, you are in the best place to ask that question. Brian the moderator is the best person to advise you personally but you can get a lot of background information by scanning through the "Pickelhaube Restoration" section:- I did and learned a LOT before attempting my first re-stitch.
Best regards,
Steve

FK19,
Thanks for the follow on pictures. I don't think it is good to wear the old gas masks that much; I've been told many countries used very caustic materials to filtrate air. Asbestos was supposedly one of the materials. Of course, I could be wrong, but...
Best regards,
John
