Looks like it has nice form to it. It looks like somebody oiled the liner, so you'll have to keep an eye on that. .. a good way to kill a liner is t oil it. How are you displaying it?

I have an old Pickelhaube cone carrier and I have the carrier upside down and the helmet is sitting in it upside down so that it isn't sitting on it's visors on a hard surface.

Also yea it has a nice dome shape which is pretty strange, usually these look like deflated balloons, and the shell in very dense unlike the other m15's that I have.

That's a very nice helmet Freikorps1919! Well done and thank you for sharing it with us!

You may want to try using a tall glass, old wooden tall candlestick holders, or wooden thread spools often found in flea markets, antique stores, Salvation Army aka Salley Ann, and Good Will Stores. You can usually get them for a better price than the acrylic stands. Old beer steins work pretty well also.

Exactly John, you can easily find a cheap solution for displaying pickelhaubes so that the visors stay clear of the surface. I use cheap tall wineglasses for instance. Turn them upside down and the supportdisc of the spike fits pefectly. And since the glasses are clear you almost do not see them.

Tony got me into using empty coffee cans years ago, the kind with plastic sealable lids. He also spray painted his but I was too lazy to be bothered. 😊 Besides, once the helmet is on nothing much of the can shows. These are the 369 gm size.
