I won this Wurt Arty on ebay and it needs a lot of TLC.
I am not finished with my Gren Arty but there is something that I can do with it till I get enough time to get to it.
The helmet is a private purchase with thin Officer's type leather and has shrunken in the spike area.
I did not want to wet it because I did not want to stain the inside. So what to do ?
Put it in traction !! I built this contraption that has a spike reinforcement plate on the inside with a plywood doughnut on the outside for resistance.
I will keep it in traction until I am ready to work on it . It has been in traction for about 2 weeks now and I will check it at the end of this month.
What I thought was a bullet hole turned out to be a hole produced from tearing off the rear spine with the split pin and washer connected.
