The shoulder strap of the staff captain of the 7th Olviopolsky of His Majesty the King of Spain Alphonse XIII lancer`s regiment (since 1908).
This regiment was formed on 08.10.1817 in Russia.
Since January 1908, the regiment was granted the patronage of the Spanish king, whose monogram began to be worn by officers and lancers of the 1st squadron.
Alfonso XIII, in turn, granted the Spanish Farnese Lancer`s regiment the patronage of Nicholas II.
The exchange of regimental delegations took place.
After the arrest of Nicholas II, the Spanish king was the first to offer him and his family asylum in Spain.
After the collapse of the Russian Empire, Alfonso XIII, as the chief of the regiment, sheltered several Olviopolsky lancers in his country.
The Farnese Regiment still exists today. In memory of those events, the regiment had a cup - a gift from Nicholas II, and the tradition of drinking alcoholic drink of the Russian cavalry named "zhzhenka", which the Spanish lancers were taught in Russia.
