EK II Document to a Garde Füsilier Regiment Maikäfer

The award document is signed by Hauptmann Frithjof Tamms. Captain Tamms, born 21 August 1878 was a regular officer originally commissioned into Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 66 in 1898. By the outbreak of war he had risen to the position of a Hauptmann (1.10.13) on the staff of II./GFR. AT mobilisation he assumed company command of 7./GFR. As well as his battalion command of II./GFR, he had also in September 1916 commanded a battalion in the K.u.K. Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 88. He was killed in action commanding his battalion at Kemmel on 29 April 1918. He was the holder of the prestigious House Order of Hohenzollern Knight's Cross with Swords.

Steve, thank you for posting that amazing GFR M15, it is in amazing condition and well marked.
Glen, thank you for the history of the commander who awarded the document to Bolze was his company commander and being the battalion commander.
