I R 114

I just got in this single strap for a full Col of I R 114
The rank appealed to me as he might have been the regiment Commander
By the size of the strap and the larger Prussian Schnurr , I think it to be an earlier strap
I then show it next to my other straps for I R 114
It is one of the few regiments that had a green underlay
Also when all the Infantry regiments went to a white underlay
they were allowed to keep the green
so double underlay ; green over white

Me too , I tend to collect them when I can
but not too many Infantry regiments had double underlay
Cavalry regiments is another matter especially when it comes to the M1915

Kurassiere white
Dragoons blue ; my favorite is Hessian D R 24 which had 3 underlays
Uhlans red

I had a tunic for an officer of the Leib Grenadier Rgt 8 in my collection a long time ago. It had beautiful boards with double underlay of red and white. I should have photos somewhere in my folders.

I am guessing that it was Feldgrau ?
