Never get the matching Chin Scales

The old problem.I'm currently looking for chains for a helmet. I have several spare parts in my collection, but not a pair that matches in condition. It's a pity....

I´am looking on every flee market, but it's looking for a needle in a haystack20240509_105228.jpg20240509_105244.jpg20240509_105252.jpg20240509_105337.jpg20240509_105343.jpg

So a few years ago, I took my roughly 50 single scales to SOS to meet up with a friend to try to match some up, he also had around 50 single's,

we only matched up 2 sets! the amount of different makers of these must have been a lot.

Hello,
20240509_105421.jpg20240509_105441.jpg20240509_105448.jpg20240509_105455.jpgI actually have some very nice pieces like this one. Never used, not even a hole to be seen. But then, they are two of the same. I need the counterpart with the buckle...

A reminder James also, of the hassle you had trying to find chin scale rosettes that match a few years back. Even with these, the number of different designs is incredible. In my experience, the black velvet additional backing is rare.

You are correct, sir!

A few years ago (when I only collected German Second World War Army)
I got a whole bag full of scale chains as bycatch. I gave them all away back then.
Today I would give anything to have this bag back...
