Since it is difficult to find original leather, I decided to make one. I imported leather of the right thickness and colour from Italy, not an easy task, but I like a challenge.Color comparison in the last photo.

Well, it's starting to look slow. Now sandpaper and solder to level it out. Then putty and more putty. You need a Japanese spatula to apply the putty. Water paper 240, 400, 800 you must have Mr. Wojtek to level the putty. Maybe change your profession to auto body worker .
Of course, congratulations on taking on a rather difficult subject. I'm curious about the end result.
