Garde Du Corps NCO tunic

What are your thoughts on this tunic gentlemen, is this correct for the garde dragoons? My only concern is the format of the tag on the inside it using the abbreviation for ersatz regiment and not Eskadron. Or do I maybe have it misidentified as dragoons.

Also I believe the collar litzen is incorrect it should have two rows of litzen whereas this one only has one. Unless thats due to it having NCO tresse.

On your label is written Garde du Corps, 2. Ersatz-Regiment Garde du Corps
I’m not sure with the last, but it could mean Weite (for Size) No. 64

I agree with Sandy, but the 2.E is for 2. Eskadron. The "W" is for Waffen 64. Sometimes encountered on german imperial (only) cavalry name tags.

I see you are correct gentlemen, I was doing my best to try and look through some of the references on kaisers bunker and used the descriptions there and a picture of the 2nd garde dragoons and thought it was the closest match.

The GDC uniforms i have looked at in the past are typically white, what would be a good price to pay for this example?

For comparison, here is my 2 Garde Dragoon Regt Waffenrock. The main differences are the collar and the the kurrassier lace on the GdC tunic.

You are right..Eskadron sounds more plausible for a cavalry uniform (y)
Do you know what „Waffe Nr. 64„ means?

Is it similar to a rack number perhaps? He was the 64th man on the roster for this time period or rack/ locker nr. 64?

A "Waffen Nummer" appears sometimes, albeit rarely, on name tags. It is apparently restricted to cavalry units. It should be a nomenclature for the different effects and weapons received by the soldier at the depot, referring to the same collection. I have a Prussian cuirass with a name tag and Waffen #.
Waffen is also what came to my mind when I saw "W" on the name tag pictured above.

Thank you for all the help gentlemen, I will post more photos when it arrives and I will also be on the look out for some loose GDC shoulder boards which I'm sure are going to be a trick to find.

Will,

Excellent score! Very desirable Waffenrock! You will also need 2 matching silver buttons for the shoulder boards. You are correct in that the "W" stood for Waffen or as you wrote a "Rack" # . Not often encountered on uniform.
