Innenfutter/lining renovation

Yes very labour intensive! Please show us how you did the repair. A cloth backing?

I did not use any primer. Each thread is glued one to the other.Over the years I have tried different glues and I consider this English one the best.At the beginning of the gluing it is white in color, and later it becomes transparent and flexible. It is suitable for repairing uniforms, etc.Thank you Brian for your feedback.

If you are looking for some original Moire silk, check out ETSY , sometimes original vintage pieces are available , normally in France or Italy.
I managed to get a few yards of it a few years back for a project.

How do you apply it?
Needel, brush , toothpick ?
Do you apply it on the front or back of the cloth ?
Does it have to be pinned down as you apply the glue?

Squeeze the material with your fingers for about 30 seconds.Apply glue with what you have, toothpick, needle pin, etc.The side of the glue does not matter, because the glue becomes colorless. In the example in the photos I gave too much glue, but I wanted to show the moment of gluing.

Good choice of glue Wojtek, my wife suggested this brand to me years ago and I have found it very versatile for a lot of different cloth/leather jobs where stitching was no longer an option.

Hi Amy, if you are having trouble I can send the glue to you no problems at all - a shop that sells it is about a mile from here. Let me know ,
Steve

Steve thanks for the help. Let's see whether the glue finds its way to Singapore or not lol. Give it a week or two and they may still cancel my order. That's the problem of living in a small country that is just a dot on the world map

If this does not work Amy, let me know and I will order some and mail to you or deliver it to the next SOS

The glue is strong, but it does not like water. It is probably not suitable for washing.
Hi again Wojtek

As you know I bought some of that glue and did an experiment with regards to washing a t-shirt after I repaired it.....and then washed it again and it seems to be holding up just as well when I glued it.

Just thought I'd let you know seeing it was your good self that pointed me to the glue I needed, thank you again.

Thank you beautifully for the information.I always prefer to be cautious with information before I check for myself if the product is good. From your message it seems that the glue is water resistant.
