Hello everyone,
I managed to buy the helmet as in the attached photos.
Could I ask for ID and authenticity assessment?

I will be grateful for comments from experienced forum users.

Kind regards,

Hello, Silver, and welcome to the Forum.
Sorry to say, but your helmet is Completely Fake.
It is a modern reproduction that has been aged artificially.
You can tall this based on the fact that a helmet in this Configuration never existed, with a Blued shell, but officers scales and cockades. Plus the Liner is a tell tale modern one made in India. Plus the spike is too thick and lacks the features that are seen in Originals. I am very sorry to be the the bearer of bad news. Everything about this helmet yells fake to me.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with both members, it's a fake.
But welcome here Silver, you can learn a lot here by asking questions, and looking at other members posts, with similar, or other haubes.

One of the countless exact type of metal helmet found on eBay that is currently being made in India. They are literally flooding eBay USA and eBay Germany with this type of helmet being offered for sale among the original helmet category listings. Someone artificially aged this modern era made helmet and lied about it being "found in an attic" in order to fool the unsuspecting buyer here. How sad and unfortunate.

An experienced person can spot this helmet a mile away because of the following signs:

1.) The American Football shaped spike base has only 2-domed retainers holding it to the top of the helmet body or shell. Originals always have a total of 4-domed rivets that hold the spike base onto the top of the helmet (2-domed retainers at the front of this style of spike base, and 2-domed retainers at the back of the spike base.)

2.) The Indian makers of this helmet always place the Kokardes on the outside of the chinscales, instead of directly next to the side of the helmet body as original helmets should be configured.

3.) The leather liner is modern era made, and does not look like what an original leather liner is supposed to look like.

4.) These fake metal body helmets always have no ventilator holes in the neck of the spike.

5.) The very top of the spike on these modern made fake helmets always have a flattened surface to the top of the spike.

6.) The eagle is designed entirely wrong, because there is not gap space between the feathers on the tail and between the legs. There also is no gap between the downward area of the wings where they touch the top of the legs of the eagle. Originals always have gaps in these areas. This eagle is pure Indian made rubbish that is on this helmet.

7.) Original metal "lobster tail" helmet have no domed rivet in the location of the bottom of the center area of the back visor on the helmet. There is absolutely no need for one to be there. Why these Indian rascals place a rivet in that location is beyond my understanding. The entire helmet they make is complete and utter nonsense. Enterprising little b*stards trying to make a living on $3 a day and trying to feed their families on rice and lentils I suppose, but I have no sympathy for these forgers and liars.

Anyone else want to add more to this list of things that clearly show it to be a made in India helmet?

Best Wishes,

Alan

I am seeing more and more of this exact type of helmet being artificially aged and showing up for sale on eBay, and on other online auctions. original helmets.

A specific handful of information - beautiful knowledge. Thank You very much.

Could have been worse. We all have one helmet that we wish we did not buy but keep as a reminder to be more careful and to ask this group for opinions before we buy.

Could have been worse!
