Coming weekend it is again the Militracks event at Overloon, the Netherlands, and I will be visiting it again.
Nice event, with restored vehicles riding around all day, a large militaria market in open air, and last but not least a great museum with lots te see.
Last year the Nashorn had technical problems, but this year it is back again, and repaired.
I haven't got much to spend, but if I see a nice haube, I might just buy it.
Anyway, a day well spent there, looking forward to it!

Regards, Coert.

Thanks for shearing this with us. Looks like it is amazing show (y)
It sure is. I will make a lot of pictures there, and post them here. I will come very early on saturday, the event was already sold out in a few day's time, first saturday, sunday came a bit later. People from all over europe come to visit, or have stands there to sell militaria, or artifacts, parts for vehicles and such, books.. 🙂

Happy hunting looks like a wonderful time.

I grew up not far from Aberdeen Proving Ground in MD and we played on the Tanks displayed there as children. Still have a fascination with the Iron giants. (y)

Well, as a small kid, me and my sister visited this exact museum, our parents, especially my dad, wanted us to learn what war was all about.
I was about 14 then, I also played, rather climed on tanks exhibited there. The museum grew to a lot larger collection, extra hall's built there,
and the exhibitions in the museum was, even then, very interesting, sometimes even hard to see. I also still have pictures, taken by my dad way back then. When my parents passed away, my sister didn't want them, so all is back here with me now.

There is something about teenage boys and tanks. A picture from 1978 when I was an Army Cadet (in the middle of the picture) sitting on a tank at the Tank Park at Canadian Forces Base Borden.

A video, not made by me, but made by another Dutch visitor of the event.
I was there too, you you can see what I saw.
I had a great time there, as usual. Been there for several years in a row.

Regards, Coert.

And another one. Pity most guy's didn't show more of the fair, with lots of stalls there here. Also lots of ww1 medals and items for sale.
I didn't buy a thing there, but had a great day anyhow.

And another video, showing the market there, and the museum. You can guess why I didn't take any pictures myself.
It was so crowded with visitors. The museum itself is on the ground that was heavily fought for in the end of 1944.
