The last time my ophthalmologist told me my eyesight was OK...But good h...now it turns out the eagle has to be the Garde Adler..."It is out of place". Good we have experts here!To me it is 6.K.?
Bekleidungsordnung 1903: "Nickelsilver Wappenadler with "FR" and "MIT GOTT FÜR KOENIG UND VATERLAND".so the silver line plate would be correct for this regiment.
The alloy? Loosing the silver finish....The brass alloy's oxidation..What’s wrong with the wappen thats the focus of the thread?
So it’s actually made of brass? I just thought it was tarnished and the quality of the photo made it look oddThe alloy? Loosing the silver finish....The brass alloy's oxidation..
It is not solid "white metal"/nickel silver. Brass or tombac I think. Oxidation. And a bad photo. So it’s actually made of brass? I just thought it was tarnished and the quality of the photo made it look odd
This picture is already a lot betterI think the Wappen is Tombac or even brass. Afraid it is not the best alloy to serve the silver finish layer.... And...that silver finish is oxidating.
That's unexpected for an issued helmet, imo solid nickelsilver is much cheaper than silver-plated brass.I think the Wappen is Tombac or even brass
Francis hearty congratulations for a beautiful KR6 Metalhelm. Regardless of what alloy you’re Adler is made of, you are still looking at a very scarce Metalhelm. It is not solid "white metal"/nickel silver. Brass or tombac I think. Oxidation. And a bad photo.
