I think the Wappen is Tombac or even brass. Afraid it is not the best alloy to serve the silver finish layer.... And...that silver finish is oxidating.

I have one, nearly exactly the same as yours with the brass showing through. It It is stamped like yours. It is also the exact same shape too. It's said that it has been cut down from an earlier high crown example.

It is not solid "white metal"/nickel silver. Brass or tombac I think. Oxidation. And a bad photo.

This picture is already a lot better , on the first picture you posted I couldn't read the banner.

That's unexpected for an issued helmet, imo solid nickelsilver is much cheaper than silver-plated brass.
The Wappen looks like brass in the recessed parts, while the protruding parts look silvery? For silver-plated brass I would expect the opposite. Oxidized nickelsilver can look like brass, according to several posts that I have read here on the forum

Francis hearty congratulations for a beautiful KR6 Metalhelm. Regardless of what alloy you’re Adler is made of, you are still looking at a very scarce Metalhelm.
Way to go!

If/when you get that Adler off to look at the back, I predict you will find some trails of silver wash that leaked onto the back at openugs, often the edges as it’s done after stamping. Would be interesting to see if possible.
