Strange Sleeves on Feldrock

I wanted to share this with you all as it is quite odd. I think I have one other example in my collection showing a Feldrock with the same sleeves. Hopefully someone here might know why this was done!

My guess is that the sleeves are too long, and as a quick fix the soldier on the left rolled part of the cuff inside the sleeve, while with the soldier on the right the sleeve length is reduced by folding the sleeve on to itself and stitching it into place. A provisional solution until the regimental tailor could properly adjust it.

A good theory! It does strike me as being temporary stitching.
