Dear colleagues, friends, please tell me why there are crossed swords on one cross at the bottom of the beam, and on the other there is a wreath of leaves? is there an explanation for this?IMG-6d7295911291cee0c472aef1abd37902-V.jpgIMG-b30fc784761e2873e40c48aed7a12b7c-V.jpg

As far as I know, the crossed swords on the medal were a sign of merit in combat or war. Maybe Is this also a reference to a deserving participant in the war? However, I didn't find any reference to different symbols on the lower arm of the cross of the Landwehr Cross in the clothing regulations.

Very interesting topic.
Is the cross applied to the plaque? Or is it produced in one piece?
Would it be possible to see the back?
Many thx.
Zeb
Unfortunately these are not my subjects. I was asked my opinion on these crosses, and I do not know the answer, so I posted it on the forum to clarify these crosses.

Another good example. All the ones I have in my collection are exactly like the ones Amy and Brian showed.
But about the example with the crossed swords? Is it a one piece badge?
I may think that the sword version ia a copy / fake...

All good Braunschweig helmets that I saw, did have the laurel leaves...

Philippe
I have the same suspicion as you Philippe.
