A Saxon General of the General Staff
condition was A1+
From memory the General was Felix Barth

It seems that the trimmings of this helmet are quite white in Tombac but then what is the difference with this one which has gold trimmings??

Usually, the “gold” or “silver” color difference on officer's helmets is to differentiate generals, Flugeladjutanten, “à la suite” ..., staff colonels with the rank of general etc...
As soon as I have access to my documentation, I'll have a look at the Saxon version.

As far as I know
Saxon Generals are gilt trim
Saxon General Staff helmets are silver
Just like the Prussian helmets

Astounding. As is typical. So Steve, is that what a Preussen General Staff helmet looks like? Like a Garde Dragoner but with silver chinscales and fluted spike? I have to be lazy and ask, as I am pinned down by three dogs right now and my Lainé is out of reach. Would love too see more of that helmet; maybe in a new thread?
