The chin scales appear to be flat when all mounted troops wore convex (curved) scales. Flat scales were worn by infantry units.

Yes, unfortunately the chin scales are incorrect.
They must be curved...see pictures

I think the posts may be wrong as well. Shouldn't the ends be curved instead of pointed?
 
BUT.....all you need is a steel jager zu pferde clover shaped base with a spike and a couple of m15 side post, and Voila, a nice m15 helmet !
