M1886 Bavarian Infantry OR helmet complete Very nicely marked to 3 IR 1895

A great early helmet here, a M1886 Bavarian OR helmet to infantry.

Has original Bavarian kokarden, no Reich kokarden which is correct for this time frame.

Original enlisted type chinscales that are complete and attach.

Early style spike with pearlring.

All stitching is tight. Wappen held on with 2 original leather tabs, no extra holes.

Liner shows wear and tear but is complete.

The markings on the inside are awesome. 3.J.R 1895 5. C1895 2 3.

This is a great helmet!

Very odd that didn’t sell? No missing parts, full liner, killer markings, a very solid example of Bayern FAR. Be hard pressed to find a better one.

I think people just have less fun money these days. That being said if this were marked to the 5th FAR I'd have looking into a payment plan haha

The S O S was now over in Feb
I guess that a lot of collectors bought things there
and in a few days, there is the Kube auction and the Stauffer auction
and A o K is on a roll with great helmets for sale
A good time to buy if one has the funds

That is quite true but the ridiculous auction fees almost make it not worth going to sites like that. I can't understand payd 25-40% extra for items that are already quite expensive

even U.S. auctions are getting out of hand, 25% commission, then Sales tax and shipping, then a handling charge now on many as well, no great deals out there on auctions.
