Wurttemberg I R 125 : Different crowns for the epaulettes

My pair does not have the correct Reich's crown.
I think them to be made this way.
In the last Stauffer they offered a pair with the Reich's crown
so, I bid on them and won the pair
the photos show the difference
Here are my thoughts on the cypher & crown
While the cypher is only " F R " with no III under it
since it carries the Reich's Crown
I must guess that it is for Friedrich III
the father of Kaiser Wilhelm II
who was the Emperor for 99 days and would have worn
the Reich's crown
The cypher was given 20. 3. 1888
Friedrich died June 15 , 1888

Interesting question. I saw a pair of shoulder straps like this on sale. And here is a drawing from a German book. Before your message, I thought that they simply put the crowns that were available.

After collecting for some years, I have seen things that
I think were simply just an honest mistake.
