BIG QUESTION!

Hey folks, i have this C96 type stock but it’s unusual… has a wheel at the top. Never seen anything like it! Quality is superb, very well built, so definitely a period piece. Any ideas? Possibly value too?

Looks like a locking wheel to keep the stock from sliding off once attached. I.e. you turn it to tighten it and the screw applies pressure to the attachment point or goes into a screw hole.

Yep! I understand that part, but I’ve never seen such a model before? It’s very unusual! Any ideas on maker? Model? Doesn’t seem to fit a normal Mauser pistol either… or at least not mine!
